July Minutes Tony South Called the meeting to Order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Linda Barsness, Milt Lee, Richard Baird, Tony South, Jason Ball, Mary Almendinger, Arvin Gieseke Absent: Guests: Zeb Hemsworth Agenda: Motion to approve agenda by Richard Baird, Tony South second, carried. Minutes and Records: Motion to approve minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting May 9, 2017 by Milt Lee, Richard Baird second, carried. Old Business: Motion to approve Policy for Town Hall Rental with revisions by Richard Baird, Jason Ball second, carried. New Business: Motion to approve reimbursement for 2 driveway approaches on Memengwa Lane, Pine Hollow Estates that were recently installed on Lot 1 & 2 for the amount of $500.00 each for a total of $1,000.00 by Richard Baird, Milt Lee second, Linda Barsness abstained, carried. Motion to approve Resolution Authorizing Contract for Milt Lee to develop and maintain a website by Tony South, Linda Barsness second, Milt Lee abstained, carried. Motion to hire Nina Burnett as permanent custodian for Pike Bay by Milt Lee, Jason Ball second, carried. She has completed her 90 day probation period and has been doing a good job. Motion to have clerk act on response for 2016 Population and Household Estimates for the Minnesota State Demographer by Richard Baird, Milt Lee second, carried. Correspondence: Minnesota Association of Townships membership cards for each member of town board. Minnesota Department of Commerce sent a CD of the draft environmental impact statement for the Line 3 Pipeline Project. Financial Report: June disbursements for Check # 13643 thru # 13664 and 3 electronic transfers totaling $18,258.11 after voiding Check # 13640. These figures include the end of month Payroll for May, and mid June Payroll for the Police officers, and the bills that were received through 6/13/2017. Motion to approve disbursements as presented by Tony South, Milt Lee second, carried. Road Report: Richard Baird presented report. Storlie Construction will be repairing shoulders on roads, installing a culvert on 65th Avenue and will be blading roads that will have chloride put down. Billy Conner will rent a broom and sweep roads with his bobcat. Still trying to get someone to do striping on roads and do crack sealing and repair of potholes. Fire Department Meeting Report: Arvin Gieseke presented report. The City of Cass Lake approved $7,500.00 electric hookup generator. The Fire Department is working on a grant with the City of Cass Lake on the new proposed addition. The proposed budget for the addition will be discussed at the August meeting.
