Pike Bay Township Board of Levy Meeting February 5, 2019 following Board of Audit Meeting Chair, Richard Baird called the meeting to order at 6:40 pm. Present: Richard Baird, Linda Barsness, Reuben St. Cyr, Ryan Erickson, Arvin Gieseke, Mary Almendinger Absent: Michael Reyes Reviewed and recommended levy amounts for 2020. 100- General Government - The only plans for expenditures in this fund is regularly scheduled maintenance. The levy for this fund is proposed to be set at $40,000.00. 201- Fire - The Fire Board approved a 2019 budget that will result in a 2% increase to the Pike Bay levy. The levy for this fund is proposed to be set at $33,000.00. 202- Roads & Bridge – We have built a small reserve in this fund for planned graveling of the roads, depending on cycle approved by road Supervisors and annual crack sealing of our black top surfaces. Tom’s Harbor road may need to be resurfaced in the future. Long term goals are to pave Newstrand road and possibly the road we share with Farden Township. The levy for this fund is proposed to be set at $52,000.00. 210- Building - Once the snow is gone we will look at the outside condition of the building and see about any caulking around windows and doors and condition of roof shingles. The only planned expenditures will be for general maintenance. The levy for this fund is proposed to be set at $30,000.00. 212- Police - The police department will receive funds from property tax dollars, TZD dollars, fines and forfeitures, and state aid. Police State Aid application has been submitted. The levy for this fund is proposed to be set at $80,000.00 a 50% reduction from 2019. Motion to approve the 2020 Levy recommendations by Ryan Erickson, Reuben St. Cyr second, carried.
